Ambulant Toilet Braille & Tactile Sign - Pillar Range
Tactile braille signs are a required part of all Australian buildings that have public accessibility access, whether it's a shopping centre, a high rise office complex or an education facility. Facilities such as toilets must be properly indicated with the correct type of tactile signage to comply, including the sometimes forgotten Ambulant Toilet cubicle.
The Ambulant Toilet sign is positioned on the door of the ambulant cubicle located within a male, female or all gender toilet block. It must be referenced both on the external signage adjacent to the toilet block door, and also on the cubicle itself. This version is only suitable for the cubicle, as it makes no reference to the main amenities in the block.
The pillar range of braille signs offer a different aesthetic to the classic design normally seen on off-the-shelf braille signs. The tall panel allows for a clean, modern look no matter how many or how few symbols are required, and will be appealing in a wide range of spaces.

Installation Information:
The installation of the sign must be between 1200mm and 1600mm above the floor or ground.
If the sign has a single line of characters the tactile characters must be between 1250mm and 1350mm above the floor or ground.
The sign must be located on the wall on the same side as the door handle, and the leading edge of the sign should be located between 50mm and 300mm from the architrave.
If there is insufficient space on the door handle side of the door the sign may be installed on the opposite side.
If it is not possible to install the sign on either side of the door the sign may be installed on the door itself.
